RAL Gütezeichen (Quality Marks) – a reflection of developments in the economy and society, as well as in the area of consumer protection: RAL has become a trusted trademark and a reliable guide for consumers over the almost 90 years it has been in existence. As an instrument for the voluntary self-regulation of the economy, RAL has – when seen against its current responsibilities – far exceeded the expectations of its original founders. A total of 130 Quality Assurance Associations existed at the beginning of 2014, in which 9000 companies are collectively working together. There are currently almost 170 quality marks for products and services from almost all areas of the economy both at home and abroad.
