RAL Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung e.V. is moving to Bonn in early 2017. The institute found by the German industry back in 1925 is thus making a long-term commitment to the location of Bonn. The laying of the foundation stone for the new RAL building was celebrated at the new “Am Mühlenbach” business park in the Beuel district of Bonn.

RAL Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung e.V. and RAL gGmbH will move into the new company headquarters there in early 2017. A highly modern, energy efficient office building will be constructed on an area covering 3,000 square metres and will be available to the employees of RAL QUALITY MARKS, RAL COLOURS, RAL ENVIRONMENT (Blue Angel) and RAL LOGO LICENCE in the future. The design of the new building includes a generous convention area for conferences and further education and training measures.

A special feature of the new building – which was planned and realised by the architect Dipl. Ing. Frank Piotrowski based in Bonn – is the use of products and services holding RAL Quality Marks for all trades, such as the quality assurance system for lightning protection or the quality assurance system for windows and entrance doors. Colours from the globally used RAL Colours collection are also being used on the outside and inside of the building. The use of a diverse range of materials that have been awarded the Blue Angel also complies with the self-image of RAL.
