The recycling of plastic helps to conserve natural resources. The proportion of recycled materials sourced from household waste thus plays a particularly important role with respect to environmental protection. The RAL Quality Mark for the % of Recycled Plastic indicates the proportion of recycled plastic materials from household waste in products in percent. It also guarantees that these materials can be seamlessly traced back to the relevant yellow sack or yellow bin. All processing stages – from sorting and preparing through to the use of the recyclate in the respective new products – are documented. Recycled materials from commercial and industrial waste, which are much easier for companies to use, are not included in the percentage figures in order to incentivise the use of plastic materials from household waste. This RAL Quality Mark thus also stands for wide-reaching and high-quality sustainability standards.
